Kazakhstan's National Bank commits to 5% inflation targetThe National Bank of Kazakhstan has no plans to revise its 5% inflation target and will make every effort to achieve it, chief banker Timur Suleimenov said on Friday."We aim to keep inflation at a level that aligns with economic growth, ensures social well-being and fosters a favorable investment climate. That level is at 5%. So, we have no intention of changing our inflation target and will strictly follow it, speeding up efforts to reach this goal as quickly as possible," Suleimenov said at a Friday briefing.In June 2025, monthly inflation in Kazakhstan slowed to 0.8% from 0.9% in May. However, year-on-year inflation accelerated to 11.8%, up from 11.3% the previous month.Annual inflation for 2024 eased to 8.6%, down from 9.8% in 2023. (ICE ALMATY)
