INDONESIA SEEKS STRONGER BIOENERGY PARTNERSHIP WITH BRAZIL

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia explored opportunities to boost bioenergy cooperation with Brazil while accompanying President Prabowo Subianto on a state visit to Brasília on Wednesday. During a bilateral meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President Prabowo discussed clean energy, climate resilience, and strengthening collaboration in bioenergy. Currently, 88 percent of Brazil’s electricity supply is sourced from low-carbon sources, including hydropower, wind, solar, and bioenergy. Brazil’s development of sugarcane-based bioethanol has also made it the world’s second-largest ethanol producer. Its model is highly relevant to Indonesia’s current efforts to expand biofuel use and develop new energy resources. Meanwhile, President Prabowo highlighted Brazil’s experience in developing the integrated biofuel and agriculture sectors. According to the President, Brazil’s innovations in these areas have had a real impact on its economy and energy security and could hold valuable lessons for Indonesia.Source : https://en.antaranews.com/news/365465/indonesia-seeks-stronger-bioenergy-partnership-with-brazil?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=category_home (ICE GIACARTA)
