Kazakhstan to use industrial waste in motor road constructionKazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport has adopted an action plan to increase the use of industrial waste in motor road construction, Kazakhstan Motor Road Research Institute said in a press release.“The plan outlines a series of measures aimed to process and utilize industrial waste, such as ash, slag, mining waste and other byproducts, in motor road construction in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the press release says.According to experts, recycled industrial materials will not only reduce costs but will also significantly lessen environmental impact."Processed waste can be effectively used in road construction and maintenance. These materials meet the same quality standards as traditional ones. It’s a win-win: the government cuts costs, industries resolve waste disposal issues and the environment benefits," said Yerik Amirov, deputy head of the research institute. The Transport Ministry also proposes introducing tax incentives and other support measures for companies involved in waste processing.Additionally, Kazakhstan Motor Road Research Institute has launched industrial waste research projects in the regions.  In the Pavlodar and Karaganda regions, experts are assessing industrial waste for their suitability for road construction. The findings will be compiled into a recommended materials list, which will be added to Kazakhstan’s Register of Road Construction Materials. (ICE ALMATY)
