INDONESIA, SAUDI ARABIA INK $27B DEALS IN ENERGY, MINERAL SECTORS

Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have sealed US$27 billion in private sector deals across various fields, including clean energy, petrochemicals and aviation fuel services. The agreements were signed on Wednesday at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, where President Prabowo Subianto met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) after arriving on Tuesday for his first state visit to the Middle Eastern country. Beyond the headline deals, both sides have pledged deeper collaboration in crude oil and derivative supplies, energy supply chains and climate policy alignment, as well as mineral resources, renewables and energy efficiency projects. The countries have also agreed to harness emerging technologies including artificial intelligence in the energy sector and to “develop an enabling environment for them”. Also on July 2, state asset fund Danantara announced it had signed MoUs with Saudi private energy giant ACWA Power as part of the broader set of bilateral deals forged during President Prabowo's visit. The agreements unlock up to $10 billion in project funding to help Indonesia meet its ambitious renewable energy goals to generate 34 percent of the country’s total power capacity by 2034 and 87 percent by 2060.Source : https://www.thejakartapost.com/business/2025/07/04/indonesia-saudi-arabia-ink-27b-deals-in-energy-mineral-sectors.html (ICE GIACARTA)
