Samsung Electronics reported a sharp drop in Q2 operating profit to 4.6 trillion KRW, largely due to weak semiconductor performance and a rare 1 trillion KRW inventory valuation provision. Delays in HBM deliveries to Nvidia, trade restrictions from the U.S., and falling demand for home appliances also weighed on results.
