Utility tariff hike will not occur in Q4 - Natural Monopolies RegulatorPreviously planned tariff increases will be partially postponed to later dates; new increases for regulated utility tariffs are not planned for approval in October-December this year, announced the Committee on Regulation of Natural Monopolies (CRNM) of the Ministry of National Economy."Approval of new increases for regulated utility tariffs is not planned in the fourth quarter of 2025. Moreover, a reduction in their growth rate is envisaged: for electricity and heat supply - from 35% to 20%, for water supply, sewerage services, and gas supply - from 50% to 30%," the committee's statement said.The measures taken are aimed at supporting citizens' purchasing power, stabilizing price expectations, and ensuring the sustainable functioning of infrastructure, according to the committee's press release."Further tariff increases will be implemented in a balanced manner, taking into account social sensitivity and the priorities of state economic policy," CRNM added.It was previously reported that tariff increases would be partially postponed in Kazakhstan to curb inflation growth rates.Inflation in Kazakhstan in June 2025 stood at 0.8%, slowing down from 0.9% in May. Year-on-year, June inflation reached 11.8%, accelerating compared to 11.3% in May.According to the national statistics bureau, compared to June last year, cold water tariffs increased by 96.3%, sewerage services by 34.6%, central heating by 19.2%, gas transported via distribution networks by 15.5%, hot water by 15.1%, electricity by 12.5%, and housing maintenance fees by 12.7%.
