Kazakhstan to fully meet domestic milk demand by 2027 - Agriculture MinisterKazakhstan plans to eliminate its reliance on imported milk and dairy products within three years through a major expansion of domestic production, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov announced Monday."Yes, 100%," Saparov told reporters at a government briefing when asked whether the country could meet domestic demand for milk and dairy products within three years. The minister noted that while Kazakhstan had only 19 modern dairy farms in 2019, an additional 116 facilities are now planned. Of these, 69 are already operational with 47 more under development. Saparov said completing all 116 farms would boost annual milk production by 600,000 metric tonnes, eliminating the need for imports. The expansion comes as part of Kazakhstan's broader agricultural modernization efforts to strengthen food security.
