Kazakhstan boosted beef exports 40% in 2024, mutton 120%Kazakhstan increased beef export in 2024 to 22,000 tonnes and mutton export to 18,000 tonnes, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov said at a Tuesday meeting of the government."Current production levels fully meet domestic demand for beef and mutton, allowing for expanded exports. In 2024, the export of beef rose by 40% to make over 22,000 tonnes and the export of mutton grew by 120% to reach 18,000 tonnes," Saparov said.Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstan’s cattle population grew by 23.4% (9.6 million head), followed by sheep and goats (up 7.8% to 26.3 million head), horses (up 12.2% to 5 million head), camels (up 8.5% to 321,300 head) and poultry (up 2.2% to 47.7 million chickens).January-June of this year saw an increase in processed livestock output, with sausage production up 11.3%, canned meat up 27.5%, and chilled and frozen offal rising by 41.9% and 47.1%, respectively, the minister added.
