Kazakhstan boosted cargo transportation by rail in Jan-June by 4% to 150.1 mln tonnesKazakhstan’s national railway operator, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), transported 150.1 million tonnes of cargo in January-June 2025 or an increase of 4% year over year, the company's press service said in a Wednesday press release.In the reporting period, total exports by rail rose by 9%. Exports of grain rose by 37% year over year, building materials by 37%, vegetable oil by 27%, fertilizers by 16%, coal by 14%, crude oil by 9% and compound animal feedstuff by 370%.Among the shippers that showed the highest export growth were ERG Group (+8%), Bogatyr Komir LLP (+19%), Qarmet JSC (+12%), KazPhosphate LLP (+31%), KazZinc LLP (+23%), Saryarka ENERGY LLP (+83%), Shubarkol Premium JSC (+200%), Karazhyra JSC (+38%).Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) is a transport, warehousing and distribution company, which is part of Kazakhstan’s National Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
