VIETNAM AIRLINES INAUGURATES DIRECT HÀ NỘI–MILAN ROUTE
Vietnam Airlines has inaugurated its first direct flight between Hà Nội and Milan, strengthening its European network with a total of 10 direct routes to the continent. The maiden flight, VN73, departed from Nội Bài International Airport at 12:45 AM on July 1 and landed at Milan Malpensa International Airport at 7:40 AM local time. A return flight, VN72, departed the same day at 12:45 PM. The new route operates thrice weekly—Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays—using Boeing 787 aircraft, with each leg taking around 12 hours. Milan, Italy’s second-largest economic hub, is expected to serve as a strategic gateway to southwestern Europe, boosting trade and tourism ties between the two countries. Italy is now among Việt Nam’s top 10 fastest-growing inbound tourism markets, with 2024 visitor numbers 155% higher than in 2023. Vietnam Airlines aims to enhance its competitive edge in the Vietnam–Europe travel market through this direct service. — VNS (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
