WORLD BANK TRANSFERS $929 MILLION TO FINANCE 16 JORDANIAN PROGRAMS

Over the past year, the World Bank transferred approximately $929 million to finance 16 development projects and programs across various sectors in Jordan, out of a total allocation of about $4.87 billion for these initiatives. The disbursements made during 2024 represent 19.07% of the total allocated funding. Data indicates that the Human Capital Development Program was the only project to receive nearly its full allocation from the World Bank, totaling $300 million, according to Al Mamlaka. The year also saw significant progress in implementing the Education, Skills, and Administrative Reforms Modernization Project (Masar), which the World Bank approved with $400 million in funding on the same date. By the end of the year, $100 million had been disbursed, representing 25% of the total allocation. Additionally, funding included the Citizen-Centered Digital Government Program, approved by the World Bank on March 26, 2024, with $321 million allocated. By year-end, $81 million had been disbursed, accounting for 25.3% of the total funding. (ICE AMMAN)
