OPTIMISM GROWS IN SME SECTOR

Kerall Research, the Institute for Business Opinion Research, has released its latest report “SME Scanner 2025”, which surveyed the micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector on how the condition of their business had changed in Q1 2025. The paper shows that while nearly a third of entrepreneurs forecast a downturn, almost as many, despite the uncertain economic situation, rising costs or difficult geopolitics, expect their company's economic situation to improve. A “positive” change was noted by 22 percent of companies, 2.4 percentage points more than in the previous quarter. The percentage of entrepreneurs with a negative assessment of the past three months in the company remains at a similar level. Currently, almost one in five entrepreneurs (19.8 percent) are critical of the past quarter, almost the same as the quarter before (19.4 percent). An expectation of improvement in the condition of their business was expressed by 31.2 percent of respondents. This is a marked increase of 4.8 percentage points quarter-on-quarter. (ICE VARSAVIA)
