Public finance data indicates that local revenues reached approximately JOD3.308 billion during the first four months of 2025, an increase of about JOD192.7 million compared to the same period in 2024, which recorded JOD3.115 billion.Tax revenues for the period totaled JOD2.451 billion, with collections from the general goods and services tax amounting to JOD1.4 billion.Income and profit taxes contributed JOD937.4 million, real estate sales tax reached JOD33.2 million and taxes on international trade and transactions amounted to JOD80.2 million. Non-tax revenues during this period stood at JOD856.1 million.The general budget recorded a financial deficit post grants of JOD469.2 million in the first four months of 2025, compared to a deficit of JOD345.1 million during the same period last year.The increase in the deficit is attributed to an JOD84 million rise in capital expenditure within the estimated allocations in the General Budget Law. Excluding grants, the fiscal deficit stands at JOD490.8 million, compared to JOD405.9 million in the same period in 2024.The government's debt-to-GDP ratio is expected to decline by the end of June, remaining near its levels at the end of last year, following the Ministry of Finance's repayment of $1 billion in Eurobonds due next June.
