Kazakhstan reports 18.2% growth in fixed capital investments in January-May 2025Kazakhstan’s fixed capital investments reached 5.952 trillion tenge in the first five months of 2025, marking an 18.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Bureau of National Statistics under the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms.The most attractive sectors for investment during this period were industry (40.1%), real estate operations (20.7%), transport and warehousing (13.6%), and education (8.7%). Spending on construction and major repairs of buildings and structures also rose by 29.6%.The primary source of investments remained companies’ own funds, totaling 3.906 trillion tenge. Large enterprises accounted for 1.86 trillion tenge in capital expenditures. Government budget funds made up 22% of investments, while bank loans contributed 3.6% and other borrowed funds 8.8%, including 2.8% from non-residents. (ICE ALMATY)
