Uzbek president discusses prospects for partnership with U.S. businesses Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a delegation led by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Eric Meyer have discussed the prospects for partnership between Uzbekistan and U.S. businesses, the Uzbek presidential press service said."The parties focused on the prospects for investment and innovation partnerships, the promotion of specific projects for exploring and processing critical materials, in the areas of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, the modernization of transport and energy infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, and others," the press service said in a statement.The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, Vice President of the International Development Finance Corporation Bethany Aquilina Brez, and the CEOs of Boeing, FLS, Visa, NASDAQ, Air Products, Franklin Templeton, Morgan Stanley, Coca-Cola, and other companies, the statement said.The CEOs of leading U.S. companies noted the favorable conditions for investors in the country and shared their suggestions and plans, it said."The current meeting demonstrates the growing interest of American businesses in expanding their presence in Uzbekistan," Mirziyoyev said.U.S. businesspeople will take part in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held on June 10-12, the press service added.
