LG CNS will implement an AI coding platform, DevOn AI-Driven Development (DevOn AIDD), across the entire software development process, taking its productivity to the next level. The company announced Wednesday that it will expand the AI-powered coding platform, which previously was only used during the coding process, to support every phase of development, from analysis and design to coding, testing and quality assurance. “With DevOn AIDD, we plan to innovate the productivity of (software) development for our clients and offer them a differentiated customer experience,” the company said. During the analysis process, the platform can translate vast and complex source code into comprehensible human language and automatically summarize it, saving enormous time for developers to analyze the system’s architecture. With the platform, developers can create or modify systems by adding or adjusting sentences or phrases in the human language. For instance, a developer can update additional verification features in a system by simply writing “Add voice authentication feature for user verification” instead of manually creating a system structure from scratch. The AI platform will make the coding process more efficient and convenient with features such as converting coding to an up-to-date version and automatically generating new code to fit the existing code’s context. It can also suggest the next block of code to developers and automatically detect and correct code that would cause systematic errors, security risks or performance issues. For testing, the platform will simulate the completed code to verify whether it meets customer requirements and operates as expected, even suggesting improvements by evaluating code quality, security and potential bugs. The platform also has a coding agent feature, in which the AI operates the entire process of coding, from writing source code to testing and verifying when developers simply input the function they wish to build. The coding agent automatically repeats the process of detecting errors and fixing them to achieve a high-quality codebase. The company plans to further develop DevOn AIDD into a fully autonomous agentic AI that can plan and execute tasks across analysis, design, coding, testing and quality assurance, simply with developers’ commands.     (ICE SEOUL)
