Kazakh central bank lowers 2025 oil price forecast to $65 per barrelThe National Bank of Kazakhstan has revised its 2025 oil price projection downward to $65 per barrel for Brent crude, chairman Timur Suleimenov announced Thursday. The updated forecast represents an $8 reduction from the bank's previous estimate of $73 per barrel. "Current market conditions show significant instability, with prices facing downward pressure from weakening Chinese demand, anticipated OPEC+ supply increases, and growing global trade tensions," Suleimenov said during a briefing. The central bank chief emphasized Kazakhstan's continued vulnerability to commodity cycles, noting that "trade escalation and falling oil prices have again exposed our structural dependence on resource cycles." He stressed the importance of prudent management and efficient utilization of National Fund resources under current economic conditions. (ICE ALMATY)
