Kazakhstan's Business Activity Index improved to 51.4 points in MayKazakhstan's Business Activity Index went up by 0.9 points to 51.4 in May 2025 compared with 50.5 in April 2025, the National Bank of the republic said in a Wednesday press release.The growth continued in manufacturing, trade and services, with the index remaining in the positive zone at 53.7, 52.3 and 51, respectively, compared to 53, 51.2 and 50.1 in April, according to the regulator.Readings below the 50-point level mean a sector is contracting.Construction and mining industries also showed improvement, but indicators remained in the negative zone at 49.8 and 49.1, respectively, compared to 48.8 and 48.2 in April.The mining sector and manufacturing recorded increased production volumes, while trade saw a rise in inventory stocks.The Business Climate Index, which is an average of the current and future business conditions, rose to 14.5 points in May of this year from 13.6 points in the previous month, driven by improved assessment of the existing business environment and growing optimism about future prospects.
