INDONESIAN PALM OIL EXPORT VALUE JUMPS 20 PCT, BUT VOLUME DROPS

Indonesia's palm oil exports rose by 20% in value during the first four months of 2025, reaching US$7.05 billion despite a 5.37% decline in export volume to 6.41 million tons. The increase in revenue was driven by a 26.54% rise in average unit price—from US$869.16 per ton in early 2024 to US$1,099.82 in 2025. Palm oil and its derivatives accounted for 8.54% of Indonesia's total non-oil and gas exports, which amounted to US$82.56 billion during the January–April 2025 period. India emerged as Indonesia's third-largest non-oil and gas export destination, purchasing US$5.59 billion worth of goods, including US$810 million under the HS15 trade code, which covers animal and vegetable oils such as crude palm oil. HS15 products made up 14.46% of Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to India during this period.Source: https://jakartaglobe.id/business/indonesian-palm-oil-export-value-jumps-20-pct-but-volume-drops (ICE GIACARTA)
