Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states to build an inclusive, sustainable, and innovative artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem. Speaking at the 2nd OIC-15 Dialogue Platform in Tehran, Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister, Brian Yuliarto, emphasized Indonesia’s readiness to take a leadership role in promoting AI collaboration that prioritizes fairness, equitable development, and transformative impact across sectors. He highlighted AI’s strategic role in addressing challenges like food security, healthcare access, renewable energy optimization, and sustainable resource management—particularly in the face of climate change and population growth. Yuliarto outlined how AI can revolutionize agriculture through precision techniques, improve healthcare access via telemedicine in remote areas, enhance renewable energy efficiency through smart grids, and support sustainable industrial development by optimizing downstream resource processing. Indonesia also advocates joint research, capacity building, ethical standards, and public-private partnerships to ensure responsible AI adoption.
