Astana and Ankara discuss regional security, military equipment purchaseThe Kazakh Armed Forces’ delegation, led by First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff Sultan Kamaletdinov, visited Turkiye to discuss military cooperation, the Kazakh Defense Ministry’s press service reported on Friday.During the talks in Ankara, Kamaletdinov met with Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Metin Gürak."The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral military cooperation, as well as regional security issues. Topics included joint military exercises, collaboration in education, language training and peacekeeping activities," the press service said in a statement."The officials also addressed joint projects related to the procurement and production of weapons and military equipment," the statement said.As part of the visit, the Kazakh delegation toured Turkish military facilities and defense industry enterprises.
