OCB PLANS TO RAISE CHARTER CAPITAL TO OVER VND26.63 TRILLION IN 2025
Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) plans to raise its charter capital from VND24.66 trillion to over VND26.63 trillion in 2025 by issuing nearly 197.3 million shares at an 8% ratio to existing shareholders. The issuance, valued at nearly VND1.973 trillion, will be funded from the bank’s equity as of December 31, 2024. The capital increase aims to support business expansion, loans, investments, and infrastructure upgrades. In Q1 2025, OCB reported pre-tax profit of VND893 billion, with total assets up 3% to VND289.07 trillion. Customer lending rose 2.5%, but non-performing loans increased 26.7%, pushing the bad debt ratio from 3.17% to 3.91%. On May 22, OCB’s share price dropped 0.92% to VND10,750. The VN-Index also declined 0.7% to 1,313.84 amid broader market losses, with the VN30-Index falling 9.8 points.
