FEW VIETNAMESE FIRMS READY FOR CYBER THREATS

Only 11% of Vietnamese enterprises are adequately prepared for cybersecurity threats, despite a slight improvement from 5% in 2024, according to the National Cybersecurity Association. A recent report highlights widespread gaps in infrastructure, with over half of organisations lacking both advanced technological tools and dedicated cybersecurity personnel. In 2024 alone, Việt Nam faced over 659,000 cyber incidents, including major ransomware attacks on key sectors like energy, finance, healthcare, and media. Experts warn that poor incident reporting, lack of contingency planning, and low awareness among staff continue to weaken defences. They urge businesses to integrate cybersecurity into strategic planning, invest in AI-driven monitoring systems, and conduct regular training and drills to improve preparedness and protect the nation’s digital economy.
