INFLATION HAS CHANGED CONSUMER HABITS

As many as 90 percent of consumers have changed the way they do their daily shopping in the result of higher prices. An IPSOS survey carried out for in-Store Media in January-February 2025 shows that the biggest change in consumer habits is a bigger prudence in spending money, looking for special offers or shopping at cheaper stores. This trend has clearly benefited discount stores in Poland. At the same time, as many as one in four respondents is buying fewer premium goods, and 15 percent have cut back on such purchases. Although inflation has slowed down, experts are skeptical whether a return to previous trends in consumer behavior can be expected once inflation is brought under control. (ICE VARSAVIA)
