INDONESIAN MINISTRY PROMOTES SUSTAINABLE INDONESIAN TUNA AT SEAFOOD EXPO GLOBAL
At the 2025 Seafood Expo Global (SEG) in Barcelona, the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries showcased the country’s sustainable tuna products, emphasizing its commitment to eco-friendly fishing and the blue economy. Represented by eight exporters, Indonesia highlighted its pole, line, and handline-caught tuna, squid, and processed seafood, attracting strong interest from buyers across the UK, EU, US, and UAE. During the IPNLF Vision for the Future forum, the ministry held bilateral meetings with nine international importers, promoting Indonesia’s adherence to global sustainability and traceability standards like MSC, HACCP, and BRC. The ministry also explored partnerships in seafood traceability technology, such as STELINA and digital logbooks, reinforcing transparency and product quality. In 2024, Indonesia’s tuna, skipjack, and mackerel (TCT) exports reached $1.03 billion—an 11.6% increase from 2023—driven by strong demand from ASEAN and the U.S., each accounting for over 22% of total exports. The top products exported included fillets (39.2%), canned tuna (25.9%), and frozen whole tuna (27.3%).Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/356029/ministry-promotes-sustainable-indonesian-tuna-at-seg-barcelona?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
