Kazakhstan’s construction sector grew 16.2% in Jan-AprilConstruction output in Kazakhstan totaled 1.438 trillion tenge in value in January-April 2025 or an increase of 16.2% year over year, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.In the reporting period, construction and installation works rose by 15.1% to 1.254 trillion tenge in value compared to the same period of the previous year, major repairs grew by 21.3% and scheduled maintenance went up by 27.5%.As many as 10,078 new buildings were put into operation in January-April 2025, including 9,268 residential and 810 non-residential buildings.In the four months of this year, as much as 877.2 billion tenge was allocated for housing construction, housing construction expenses accounting for 20% of all fixed capital investment.In the financing structure, the own funds of the developers made up 90.1% of all investment in this sector.In January-April 2025, Kazakhstan put into service 4.882 million square meters of new residential floor space, or an increase of 6.8% year over year. Average construction costs per square meter increased by 13%.The population of Kazakhstan tops 20 million people. (ICE ALMATY)
