KazMunayGas increases oil production by 5.8% to 6.416 mln tonnes in Q1 2025National company KazMunayGas (KMG) produced 6.416 million tonnes of oil in January-March 2025, a 5.8% increase year-over-year, the company said in a statement.“KMG’s oil and gas condensate production volume for Q1 2025 amounted to 6.416 million tonnes (540,000 barrels per day), which is 5.8% higher than Q1 2024 levels,” the statement said.Meanwhile, oil transportation decreased by 2.9%, to 20.920 million tonnes.Hydrocarbon feedstock processing at Kazakh and Romanian refineries rose by 11.1%, reaching 5.137 million tonnes.The company clarified that production figures reflect KMG’s ownership share in joint and associated ventures, as well as 100% of the results from fully consolidated subsidiaries.Oil production at Tengiz surged by 24.9%, to 1.874 million tonnes. The growth is attributed to the launch of a Third-Generation Plant under the Future Expansion Project (January 2025).Oil production at Karachaganak rose by 1.8%, to 296,000 tonnes. ”The increase is linked to higher volumes of raw gas reinjection into the reservoir at Karachaganak’s production facilities”, the statement says.Oil production at Kashagan fell by 2.5%, to 761,000 tonnes. The decline was due to increased gas content in the oil.National Company KazMunayGas JSC is the national operator for exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons.
