GREEN LOGISTICS VITAL FOR BUSINESSES TO JOIN GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN

Vietnamese logistics companies must adopt green practices to remain competitive and meet global sustainability requirements, industry leaders emphasized at a May 16 press briefing for the upcoming Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition (VILOG 2025). The event, set for July 31 to August 2 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre, will spotlight digital transformation and green partnerships as key themes. Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Agency of Foreign Trade, warned that many global partners now demand not just eco-friendly products but also sustainable logistics practices. “If Vietnamese logistics enterprises do not change in time, they risk exclusion from the global supply chain,” Hai said. Vietnam is establishing itself as a logistics hub in Southeast Asia. However, to maintain this momentum and fulfill conditions under new-generation free trade agreements, businesses must meet higher environmental and technological standards, including carbon emission reductions. VILOG 2025, themed “Digital Transformation and Partnership for Green Logistics”, will showcase innovations in automation, AI, IoT-powered supply chains, and smart warehouse systems. The expo is expected to feature participation from 10 international logistics associations and top global logistics brands. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
