MINISTRY OF PLANNING RECEIVED PLEDGES TO FINANCE PROJECTS WORTH MORE THAN $2 BIL
The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation secured new pledges totaling over $2 billion in grants and loans to finance major development projects during April. According to a summary report on government achievements for the month—monitored by Al-Mamlaka and published by the Ministry of Government Communication—the Ministry of Planning signed financing agreements and received pledges amounting to $2.1 billion. These came from several key partners, including the World Bank, the German Development Bank (KfW), the Dutch Embassy, and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. As part of these efforts, the Ministry signed agreements with the World Bank worth $1.1 billion to support a range of initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth, empowering startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and expanding social protection programs. The funding also supports the goals of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision by strengthening citizens’ economic and social resilience and improving the efficiency and reliability of electricity sector services.
