MARKET ENDS HIGHER DESPITE RISING SELLING PRESSURE

Việt Nam’s stock market closed Thursday on a positive note, with the VN-Index rising 3.47 points (0.26%) to 1,313.2, marking its fourth consecutive gain. Despite early selling pressure and volatility, foreign investor buying supported the afternoon rebound. Market breadth was slightly positive, and liquidity declined by 5.5% to VNĐ25.8 trillion. The VN30-Index, tracking the 30 largest stocks, also gained 0.26%, closing at 1,401.49 points, with 18 gainers. Vinpearl JSC (VPL) led the rally, hitting its ceiling price for the third session since debuting on May 13, contributing significantly to the index’s growth. Conversely, Vinhomes JSC (VHM) dropped 3.97%, dragging down the index. Analysts from SHS Securities noted the VN-Index is in a short-term uptrend and may retest the 1,320–1,340 range, driven by strong foreign inflows and VN30 strength. However, they advised caution, noting current valuations offer limited upside. Foreign investors recorded a net buy of over VNĐ919 billion, signaling renewed interest. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
