Kazakhstan extends ban on LPG exports for six monthsKazakhstan’s Energy Ministry has extended its ban on exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), propane, and butane by road and rail for another six months, effective May 14.The measure, signed by Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhanov, aims to ensure a sufficient domestic supply of the fuels.Exemptions include: companies operating under production-sharing agreements; products manufactured from Kazakhstani raw materials at the Karachaganak field; and international transit shipments passing through but not beginning or ending in Kazakhstan.Kazakhstan first imposed the LPG export ban in 2017 to curb illegal shipments of subsidized fuel meant for domestic consumption.
