VIỆT NAM ATTRACTS ASIAN TOURISTS DUE TO PROXIMITY, CULTURE
Vietnam is experiencing a strong surge in international tourism, with 7.67 million foreign visitors in the first four months of 2025—a nearly 24% increase over the same period last year. Most tourists (78%) came from Asia, particularly China (1.95 million) and South Korea (1.58 million), its top two markets. Popular destinations like Sa Pa, Ninh Bình, Đà Lạt, Đà Nẵng, and Hội An appeal to travelers seeking natural beauty, relaxation, and unique cultural experiences. Social media, travel shows, and cuisine play major roles in attracting tourists, especially young travelers like Korean and Taiwanese students. Vietnam’s appeal is strengthened by its proximity to other Asian countries, flexible visa policies, and chartered flight options. Chinese tourists are drawn to scenic destinations and food that suits their tastes, often pairing leisure travel with business opportunities. According to Google Destination Insights, search interest in Vietnam as a travel destination has grown by 10–25% this year, ranking it 7th globally and making it the top Southeast Asian country in travel search growth—surpassing Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore.
