Kazakhstan Bank rankings by deposit growth in March: Eurasian Bank, BCC, and Bereke Bank lagging behindThe total volume of deposits from individuals and legal entities in second-tier banks in Kazakhstan as of March 2025 reached 41.75 trillion tenge, marking a 1.2% increase, or 481.8 billion tenge, compared to February 2025.Financial market players saw mixed results, with some banks experiencing deposit growth while others faced declines. The largest banks by assets: Kaspi Bank, ForteBank, and Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, led in deposit growth, whereas Eurasian Bank, Bank CenterCredit, Bereke Bank, Bank RBK, and Otbasy Bank saw their combined deposits shrink by 307 billion tenge.In March 2025, Jusan Bank, Freedom Bank Kazakhstan, Home Credit Bank, VTB Bank (Kazakhstan), and Kazakhstan-Ziraat International Bank entered the top 10 rankings compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Bank CenterCredit, Citibank Kazakhstan, Altyn Bank, Bereke Bank, and Bank RBK dropped out of the top 10.Top 10 banks by absolute deposit growth in March 2025:1. Kaspi Bank: Deposits increased by 433.3 billion tenge to 6.6 trillion tenge (2nd in March 2024).2. ForteBank: Deposits grew by 151.3 billion tenge to 3 trillion tenge (10th in March 2024).3. Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan: Deposits rose by 133.2 billion tenge to 12.6 trillion tenge (1st in March 2024).4. Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan: Deposits increased by 25.2 billion tenge to 576.2 billion tenge (3rd in March 2024).5. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Almaty): Deposits grew by 24.6 billion tenge to 247.3 billion tenge (8th in March 2024).6. Jusan Bank: Deposits rose by 16.7 billion tenge to 1.5 trillion tenge (18th in March 2024).7. Freedom Bank Kazakhstan: Deposits increased by 16.7 billion tenge to 1.12 trillion tenge (21st in March 2024).8. Home Credit Bank: Deposits grew by 11.7 billion tenge to 526 billion tenge (11th in March 2024).9. VTB Bank (Kazakhstan): Deposits rose by 7.2 billion tenge to 96.04 billion tenge (17th in March 2024).10. Kazakhstan-Ziraat International Bank: Deposits increased by 3.2 billion tenge to 136.1 billion tenge (15th in March 2024).Ten banks experienced deposit outflows. Eurasian Bank saw the largest decline, with deposits dropping by 130.7 billion tenge, followed by Bank CenterCredit with a decrease of 78.6 billion tenge. Bereke Bank, Bank RBK, and Otbasy Bank also faced significant outflows, losing 37 billion, 31.2 billion, and 29.6 billion tenge, respectively.
