Atyrau Oil Refinery to slash processing tariff by 14% starting May 1Atyrau Oil Refinery will reduce its crude oil processing tariff by 14% from 54,450 tenge (excluding VAT) to 47,000 tenge per tonne effective May 1, the company said in a Friday press release."The decision to adjust the tariff was made to ensure fair profitability for the mineral resource companies that supply crude oil to the domestic refineries. This approach will help balance economic conditions for all oil sector participants and will strengthen the domestic petroleum products market," the press release says.The refinery attributed the reduction to optimized debt repayment schedules.Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP is one of the three largest oil refineries in Kazakhstan. The company is owned by National Company KazMunayGas (99%). The design capacity of the refinery is 5.5 million tonnes a year with a utilization rate of up to 86.4%. (ICE ALMATY)
