INVESTMENT SUMMIT: 4 FUNDS ANNOUNCED FOR ENTREPRENEURS
Four funds have been announced to support youth business ideas through an initiative by Bangladesh Bank, the government, JICA, and Incepta. Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun of Bida and Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb shared the news after the "Startup Connect" session at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025. The Bangladesh Bank will open two funds totaling Tk800 crore and Tk400 crore for entrepreneurs, while JICA and the government are jointly establishing another fund. Incepta has also pledged a fund of $1 million. Taiyeb emphasized the government's commitment to providing uninterrupted internet access for startups, planning to amend the Bangladesh Telecommunication Act to recognize internet access as a fundamental right. On the summit's first day, 1,500 entrepreneurs from various regions participated, with efforts being made to create a more startup-friendly environment. (ICE NEW DELHI)
