KAZAKHSTAN-REGISTRY-MANUFACTURERS
Kazakhstan Senate approves law creating National Manufacturer RegistryKazakhstan’s Senate on Thursday passed a law establishing a unified registry of domestic manufacturers, phasing out two existing certification systems. The legislation, titled "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts Regarding Determination of Goods’ Country of Origin," cleared both parliamentary readings during a plenary session."The registry will replace the CT-KZ origin certificates and industrial certificates, streamlining the process for domestic producers," said Sen. Sagyndyk Lukpanov. The digital system will integrate with government databases to verify required documentation. The registry launches in 2025, with current certificates remaining valid through Jan. 1, 2026. Amendments approved Thursday empower the Industry and Construction Ministry, alongside sectoral agencies, to set production and technological standards for registry eligibility.Officials say the system will enhance tracking of Kazakh-made goods and centralize producer data. Three existing certifications—the CT-KZ (proving Kazakh origin), industrial certificates (confirming producer registration), and export certificates of origin—are currently issued by the Atameken business chamber. The phased rollout includes application reviews, digital audits, facility inspections, and final inclusion decisions. The Industry Ministry will lead implementation. The bill now awaits the president’s signature. (ICE ALMATY)
