INDONESIA'S MEDICAL DEVICE EXPORTS AT US$273 MLN IN 2024

In 2024, Indonesia's medical device exports reached US$273 million, with a 48% increase in domestic transactions via e-catalogs, signaling strong industry growth. The Ministry of Industry highlighted the launch of GE Healthcare’s AI-powered ultrasound products as evidence of the sector's readiness to compete in broader markets. Currently, 393 medical device companies are registered under the Indonesian Standard Classification, and 2,505 valid TKDN certificates have been issued, with local content values ranging from 16.45% to 92.22%. The ministry is actively supporting innovation and investment in the sector by encouraging research into raw materials, fostering collaboration with other ministries, and building ties with academic and research institutions.
