INDONESIA'S MINISTER SECURES IDR400 BILLION FOR 3 MILLION HOUSING PROGRAM
Indonesia's Minister of Housing, Maruarar Sirait, secured around IDR 400 billion in CSR funds to support the government’s 3 million housing program. The funds will be used to build 1,750 new homes and renovate 3,500 units, with contributions from companies like Adaro Minerals, Agung Sedayu Group, and Berau Coal, as well as philanthropic support from Aguan, Prayogo Pangestu, and Anindya Bakrie. These efforts focus on providing affordable housing, primarily for those earning below IDR 3.1 million per month. To reduce construction costs, the ministry plans to use confiscated land, potentially cutting prices by up to 40%. Of the 3.44 million housing units targeted for 2025, most will serve low-income families, while 340,000 units are allocated for those earning IDR 3.1–8 million, and 100,000 for higher-income groups. Subsidies totaling IDR 23.32 trillion are planned, including IDR 21.6 trillion in installment support for the poor. Maruarar also highlighted the role of private sector CSR, noting that State-Owned Enterprises contributed IDR 11.2 trillion in 2024 alone.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/4155/policy-and-governance/minister-secures-rp400-billion-to-build-renovate-homes-for-3-million-housing-program (ICE GIACARTA)
