Area of Aktau Sea Port SEZ to expand sevenfold in 2025The Aktau Sea Port Special Economic Zone (SEZ) should become a hub for entrepreneurial development in the region, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said."This year, plans are in place to expand the SEZ’s area sevenfold (from 3,700 hectares to 26,500 hectares). (...) It is necessary to include the production of consumer goods, including food products, in the list of approved economic activities," Tokayev said during a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Mangystau region.According to him, 22 new projects are currently underway within the SEZ, with total investments reaching 337 billion tenge, half of them comimg from foreign sources."However, priority must be given to the manufacturing sector, which produces high-quality goods and creates new jobs. The government and the akimat must conduct a detailed analysis and efficiently develop this direction. There should be no bureaucratic red tape.
