Kazakhstan plans to triple exports via TITR to 10 mln tonnes by 2028Kazakhstan aims to boost the volume of exports along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) from 3.2 million tonnes to 10 million tonnes by 2028, the presidential press service said in a statement.The press service reported that on Friday, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was briefed on this plan by Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev during a working trip to the Mangystau Region.As previously reported, cargo traffic along the TITR grew by 62% in 2024, reaching 4.5 million tonnes." 358 container trains and 27,000 vehicles were transported via TITR, with export volumes amounting to 3.2 million tonnes. By 2028 it is planned to reach 10 million tonnes," the presidential press service stated.Additionally, the press service noted that a container hub is under construction in Aktau (the administrative center of the Mangystau Region), which will increase the throughput capacity of the Caspian port of Aktau from 140,000 to 240,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units).The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is an international transport corridor passing through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and onward to Turkey and European countries.
