John Deere to invest 25 bln tenge in localizing production in KazakhstanJohn Deere plans to invest 25 billion tenge in localizing production in Kostanay, a city in northern Kazakhstan, according to the press service of the Kazakh government.The press service reported that on Friday, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar discussed with President of John Deere for the CIS and Central Asia Csaba Leko, a program for localization, service development, training Kazakh engineers, and Kazakhstan’s potential to become a central logistics hub for supplying equipment and spare parts to the CIS."The project will be implemented at the localization center in Kostanay. It is expected to create 350 new skilled jobs in production and service sectors. The investment volume amounts to approximately 25 billion tenge," the press release issued after the meeting says.Eurasia Group, the brand’s official distributor in Kazakhstan, plans to build three service centers in the country, followed by the introduction of advanced technologies, including precision farming, GPS navigation, and automated management systems for farms and service centers.As previously reported, John Deere is launching agricultural machinery production in Kostanay at the localization center of the Agromash plant, the country’s largest localized industrial site in agricultural machinery, ensuring high standards of production and technical support.Deere & Company (USA), operating under the John Deere brand, manufactures agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, forestry machinery, diesel engines, transmission systems for heavy machinery, and lawn care equipment.
