Emirates NBD achieved a major milestone in Q1 2025 by surpassing a Dh1 trillion balance sheet, driven by strong international loan growth and a record Dh27 billion rise in deposits. The bank reported a 56% quarter-on-quarter increase in both profit before tax (Dh7.8 billion) and net profit (Dh6.2 billion), although net profit was slightly lower than the Dh6.7 billion recorded in Q1 2024.Growth was powered by lending momentum, improved deposit mix, and new products. More than half of the Dh18 billion increase in loans came from overseas operations, particularly in Egypt and Turkey. Emirates NBD's strategic investments in digital innovation and regional expansion, including a recent partnership with BlackRock, are helping offset the impact of lower interest rates in the UAE.
