INDONESIA'S FINANCE MINISTRY TO SUPPORT FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN NUSANTARA

Indonesia’s Finance Ministry, alongside PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PT PII), will provide guarantees to support foreign investment in the new capital, Nusantara. The move aims to ease investor concerns about project continuity and risk. OIKN made the announcement after meeting with a consortium led by China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd. (CHEC), which emphasized the need for long-term safeguards for public-private partnership (PPP) investments. The CHEC-IJM consortium—comprising China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd. and Malaysian construction firm IJM— is involved in major projects in Nusantara, including 20 housing towers and a 26.87-km utility tunnel. The government allows unsolicited PPP proposals and assures a strong track record in such projects. CHEC expressed renewed confidence in investing after the meeting. The Nusantara development is expected to cost up to Rp 600 trillion, with 80% coming from private investment.Source: https://www.thejakartapost.com/business/2025/04/21/finance-ministry-to-backstop-foreign-investment-in-nusantara-oikn.html (ICE GIACARTA)
