INDONESIA PLANS TO BUILD 500 CASSAVA ETHANOL FACTORIES IN EACH DISTRICT
The Indonesian government plans to boost the value of local agricultural products by developing ethanol from cassava in every district. Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) announced a partnership with the private sector to build at least 500 cassava processing plants nationwide. The initiative aims to align cassava industry development with the unique potential of each region. In addition, the government also intends to establish one coconut processing facility per district to tap into the rising global demand for coconut-based products, particularly coconut milk used in coffee culture. Zulhas highlighted that the growing popularity of coconut products is driven by shifts in global consumption trends, with coconut milk increasingly replacing dairy in coffee beverages. These initiatives are expected to strengthen Indonesia’s agricultural industry, increase the value of local commodities, and enhance national competitiveness in the global market.Source: https://katadata.co.id/berita/industri/680588aa77db3/pemerintah-berencana-bangun-500-pabrik-etanol-singkong-di-setiap-kabupaten (ICE GIACARTA)
