INDONESIA TO FULFILL HYDROGEN NEEDS THROUGH 13 GREEN HYDROGEN PLANTS
Indonesia’s State Electricity Company, PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP), is advancing Indonesia's sustainable energy goals by operating 13 Green Hydrogen Plants (GHP) across various power facilities, including the Kamojang Geothermal Plant—the first in Indonesia to produce hydrogen. These plants collectively produce 80 tons of green hydrogen annually, with 32 tons used for generator cooling and 48 tons available for other applications. Green hydrogen, developed domestically by PLN engineers, supports the nation’s transition to clean energy and its Net Zero Emissions (NZE) target by 2060. To further this initiative, PLN IP has launched Indonesia’s first Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) for hydrogen-powered vehicles and is also developing green ammonia as an alternative fuel for Steam Power Plants, as demonstrated at Labuan PLTU. The use of green hydrogen, which emits only water vapor, aligns with President Prabowo’s vision for energy sovereignty and clean energy development, as emphasized by Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/pln-indonesia-power-penuhi-kebutuhan-hidrogen-lewat-13-green-hydrogen-plant (ICE GIACARTA)
