Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono made a working visit to Beijing to hold a number of meetings in order to strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the People's Republic of China (PRC), as well as to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries (21/4). One of the main agendas of Foreign Minister Sugiono in Beijing was to hold a 2+2 meeting together with Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, with PRC Foreign Minister Wang Yi and PRC Defense Minister Dong Jun. This meeting is the first 2+2 Dialogue format held by Indonesia and China, as well as the first Ministerial-level 2+2 Dialogue held by the PRC with any partner country. In the dialogue, the ministers focused on discussions on political cooperation, defense, security, and regional and global issues of common interest. In the 2+2 meeting, Indonesia and China agreed to enhance law enforcement cooperation, including mutual legal assistance, intelligence exchange, and operational coordination in combating transnational crime, cybercrime, and extremism.
