PKP Intercity, Poland’s biggest railway operator specialising in national and international long-distance transport, has announced plans to invest PLN17bn in rolling stock and ca. PLN3.5bn in technical facilities by 2030 as the number of passengers carried by the operator continues to rise. According to the statistics compiled by the operator, in Q1 of 2025 PKP Intercity carried 18.4 million passengers, 10 percent more than in the corresponding period of last year and a whopping 34 percent more than in the same quarter in 2023. On average, the operator carries 204,000 passengers per day, having carried as many as 263,000 passengers on 21 March 2025. (ICE VARSAVIA)
