KAZAKHSTAN-CZECHIA-KAZATOMPROM-EXPORTS

Kazatomprom signs a new supply agreement with Czechia’s ČEZ a. s.National Atomic Company Kazatomprom JSC Czechia’s ČEZ a. s. have signed a seven-year agreement on the supply of Kazakh natural uranium concentrates to the nuclear power plants in Czechia, Kazatomprom said in a Tuesday press release.“The supply of Kazakh natural uranium concentrates in the next seven years can cover approximately one-third of uranium needs for Westinghouse-manufactured fuel assemblies for the Temelín nuclear power plant. The agreement enhances the energy security of the Czech Republic and supports the plant´s role in providing clean and sustainable energy,” the press release says.The official signing ceremony took place at ČEZ, a. s., headquarters in Prague, with high-level representatives from both companies present, according to the press release.“With this new agreement, Kazatomprom continues to grow its footprint in the European market and advance its strategy of diversifying sales portfolio,” said Vladislav Baiguzhin, chief commercial officer of Kazatomprom.National Atomic Company Kazatomprom JSC is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for export of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants, special equipment, technologies and dual-use materials. Kazatomprom is controlled by Kazakhstan’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC (62.99%) and Ministry of Finance (12.01%), the remaining 25% are in free float. (ICE ALMATY)
