BNK Finance Kazakhstan to be granted banking license in May 2025 – financial regulatorBNK Finance Kazakhstan, a microfinance organization, which is part of South Korea’s BNK Financial Group Inc., set to receive a banking license in May 2025, according to Madina Abylkasymova, head of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market."We expect the [banking] license to be issued in May for BNK Finance," Abylkasymova told journalists.Meanwhile, microfinance organization KMF will need at least three months to gather all necessary documentation, according to Abylkasymova.In Kazakhstan, two microfinance organizations received approval for reorganization into second-tier banks: BNK Finance Kazakhstan (June 12, 2024) and KMF (March 2025).After receiving the banking license in 2025, BNK Finance Kazakhstan is expected to engage in corporate lending, trade finance, financial leasing, project financing and retail banking operations.
