Retail sales in Kazakhstan up 4.8% in Jan-MarchThe volume of retail sales in January-March 2025 grew by 4.8% year over year to make 4.583 trillion tenge, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.In the reporting period, the trade enterprises increased sales by 1.4% year over year.The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade accounted for 27.2%, non-food products – 71.2%.Compared to January-March 2024, the sales volume of food products increased by 3.6%, non-food products by 5.3%.As at April 1, 2025 the total stock of the trade organizations stood at 1.572 trillion tenge, which is enough to last for 69 trading days.Retail activity during January-March 2025 was primarily concentrated in the cities of Almaty (31.6%) and Astana (12.7%), the Karaganda region (8.3%) and the East Kazakhstan region (5.7%).
